Lionel Messi: Paris Saint-Germain fans expressed their anger towards Lionel Messi during the team's playing XI announcement on Sunday, amid rumors of his potential return to Barcelona. The Argentine footballer faced boos and whistles from the supporters as PSG suffered a 1-0 defeat against Olympique Lyon in a Ligue 1 match at the Parc des Princes.
Lionel Messi, who joined PSG from Barcelona in 2021 on a two-year contract, is now 35 years old. Despite his contract expiring this summer, he has yet to sign an extension with PSG, leading to speculation about a potential return to his last club.
As Paris Saint-Germain announced their lineup for their match against Lyon on Sunday night, Lionel Messi's name was met with boos and whistles from the home fans. This was not the first time that the Argentine superstar was targeted by PSG supporters, as he has reportedly been booed twice before at the Parc des Princes.
