US Open 2023: The rivalry between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic has set the tennis world on fire. The sport which looked really dull after the retirement of some greats was alive once again and now has more eyes on it than ever.

Novak and Alcaraz have been ruling the tennis world in 2023. While Djokovic has won two out of three Grand Slams of the year, Alcaraz stopped him in his pursuit of all four by defeating him in Wimbledon 2023.

Now, both of them have set their sights on US Open 2023, the last grand slam of the year. As both of them won their respective first-round matches, The Serbian has knocked Alcaraz down to the second ranking. But it is not like Alcaraz to sit quietly.

Will Reclaim The Number 1 Spot

In a post-match interview, the Spaniard made it very clear that he will do everything to reclaim the top spot. He stated that it is his goal and he is enjoying the battle both of them are having for the number 1 spot.

He assured his fans that he would recover his number 1 ranking after the US Open 2023. The Wimbledon 2023 winner will try to recover the ranking as soon as possible and before the end of the year.

Retain US Open 2023

When he was asked if he felt any pressure regarding his title defense, Alcaraz was pretty nonchalant about it. The Spaniard won the US Open back in 2022 but is not thinking about defending the title.

In his own words, he is trying to retain the level he played at last year and is focusing on doing his best. He wants to do the same things as last year and is only thinking about that.
