Vaibhav Sooryavanshi: Rajasthan Royals opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi stunned Royal Challengers Bengaluru by scoring a stunning 78 runs off just 26 balls in Guwahati on Friday. Former Indian Captain Virat Kohli praised the opener’s heroics.
Vaibhav made Robin Uthappa, the former Indian batsman, after the former RCB batsman and now umpire had remarked that Vaibhav would struggle in the IPL 2026.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, the 15-year-old prodigy, tore into the attack of RCB that included big names such as Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood, Krunal Pandya, Romario Shepherd and Abhinandan Singh.
Vaibhav raced to a fifty off just 15 balls and laid the perfect platform for Rajasthan Royals in their chase of 202 in 20 overs. Vaibhav smashed Aussie great Hazlewood for three boundaries and a massive six in a single burst, demonstrating amazing control over pace and length.

Rajasthan Royals then made light work of the target with Dhruv Jurel scoring 81 runs off just 43 balls, scoring 3 sixes and 8 fours.

Vaibhav, the young batter from Samastipur, who now holds the IPL 2026 orange cap went to meet Indian legend Virat Kohli and asked for an autograph.
Virat wrote on Vaibhav’s cap, “Dear Vaibhav, well done.”
Both of Vaibhav’s fifties in the ongoing IPL came off just 15 balls, one against the Chennai Super Kings and one against RCB. In the match against RCB, Vaibhav put on 108 runs with Dhruv Jurel off just 37 balls for the second wicket.
Earlier, team RCB had posted a mammoth 201 runs in 20 overs thanks to 63 runs off just 40 balls by skipper Rajat Patidar. The RCB skipper hit 4 sixes and 4 boundaries at a strike rate of 157.50.
With the victory, Rajasthan Royals has topped the IPL 2026 points table with four wins in four matches and a net run rate of +2.055. RR would next face Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on April 13.
