Vaibhav Suryavanshi : Bihar’s Vaibhav Suryavanshi has made history by becoming the youngest-ever player to be signed by an Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise at the age of 13. Rajasthan Royals (RR) bought the prodigious talent for Rs 1.10 crore in the IPL mega auction on Monday. Suryavanshi’s base price was Rs 30 lakh, with Delhi Capitals (DC) making the first bid. However, RR successfully outbid DC, securing the young batter for a significant amount.
Suryavanshi’s meteoric rise has been remarkable. He made headlines recently as the youngest batter to score an international century, achieving the feat in a Youth Test match for India Under-19 against Australia U-19 in Chennai. He scored an impressive 104 off 62 balls in that game, showcasing his immense potential.

The 13-year-old prodigy, who made his T20 debut for Bihar in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy against Rajasthan, contributed a quickfire 13 off 6 balls before falling to Deepak Chahar. While Suryavanshi has garnered attention in the junior circuit, he has yet to make a major impact in first-class cricket, with an average of only 10 after five matches, his highest score being 41.
Suryavanshi, hailing from Samastipur, first caught the limelight when he debuted in the 2023-24 Ranji Trophy at just 12 years and 284 days, making him the youngest player in the tournament's history. He also impressed in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy, scoring nearly 400 runs in just five matches at the tender age of 12.
