Bajrang Punia has come under lots of scrutiny as a viral video showcased him standing on a 'Tiranga' poster.

Viral Video: Vinesh Phogat has returned to India and she received a hero’s welcome at the IGI airport. Hundreds of fans and reporters came to welcome the brave daughter of our country.

Phogat returned to India after her appeal to the CAS was denied and she left the Paris Olympics 2024 empty-handed.

Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik went to the airport to receive their returning friend. They embraced her after such a tragic week and had made all the arrangements for her grand welcome.

But former Olympic medalist Bajrang Punia has come under scrutiny because a video has gone viral that showcases him stepping on a ‘Tiranga’ poster that was stuck on the car’s bonnet.

Viral Video: Disrespecting The Flag?

Bajrang Punia was with Sakshi Malik and Deepender Hooda as they were welcoming Vinesh at the Indira Gandhi International Airport on August 17. There were hundreds of people present in the crowd.

Amidst the chaos, Bajrang landed himself in trouble when he was spotted standing on a poster in which ‘Tiranga’ was prominently displayed. Punia was trying to manage the crowd that had surrounded the car.

It might have been an honest mistake as Punia was just trying to manage the crowd so that the car could pass. It was a dense crowd as you can even see police officers struggling to manage the crowd.

Fans Furious!

But as the video went viral, fans criticized Punia for disrespecting the national flag. It might have been unintentional but the Indian fans are furious and perceive his act as disrespectful towards our national flag.

Fans went to social media to express their anger and they were not shy about it. They attacked the Indian wrestler and asked him to apologize to everyone.
