Viral Video: Sachin Tendulkar is one such person who i swell-liked by not just cricket fans but with other people as well. Even after leaving the international game nearly ten years ago, the former batsman’s mind-numbing career statistics still place him in a league all by himself. The former captain served as the face of the Indian cricket team for well over twenty years.

People in flight chant ‘Sachin, Sachin !’

Tendulkar’s recent flight served as an illustration of his fame. The famed “Sachin, Sachin!” chant that would echo throughout stadiums everytime he came out to bat suddenly began to be sung by passengers who appeared to have noticed him. Many stadiums still hear it occasionally, especially when he is seen attending a game there and his image is displayed on the big screen.

The social media video that has gone viral does not show Tendulkar standing, and the 49-year-old later claimed that the seatbelt sign prevented him from signing because it was still lit. Additionally, he expressed gratitude to the travellers for their warm welcome.

Sachin Tendulkar reacts to the viral video

Taking to Twitter, Sachin Tendulkar wrote, “Thank you to those on my flight who were chanting my name a little while ago, reminiscent of when I used to come out to bat. Unfortunately, the seatbelt sign was on so I could not stand up to greet you. So saying a big hello to all now.”

Sachin Tendulkar’s great legacy in cricket

Tendulkar continues to hold the record for most runs scored in international cricket history and also owns the record for most runs scored in Tests and ODIs individually. He continues to be the only batsman to reach 100 international tonnes, as well as the player with the most ODI and Test centuries. He is the only player to have appeared in 200 Test matches, and his 463 ODI appearances are a record.

A record-breaking 15,291 Test runs at an average of 53.78 and 18,426 ODI runs at an average of 44.83 were scored by Tendulkar over his 24-year international career. He amassed 49 ODI tonnes in addition to 51 Test hundreds, making him the only batsman in the game’s longest format with more than 50 tonnes.
