Viral Video: Henry Nicholls was the victim of one of the most absurd dismissals one would have ever witnessed. On the first day of the third Test at Headingley in June this year, he got out in probably one of the most bizarre style. New Zealand hadn’t wouldn’t have expected this considering the fair share of bad luck against England over the years.
Players and commentators in disbelief
In a sequence of events similar to Ben Stokes’ bizarre bat deflection in the the last few balls of the 2019 World Cup Final, Nicholls was out when it was almost the tea time despite Jack Leach’s average delivery.
Daryl Mitchell, who was attempting to move out of the way at the non-striker’s end accidentally deflected a shot that might have gone for a boundary and instead sent it flying to Alex Lees at mid-off. Alex attempted an easy catch. Even the commentator Naseer Hussain exclaimed on live tv “How did it get there.” Englan’s bowler, Leech, who didn’t saw the ball was too left confusing with what had transpired on the ground.

England won the series by 3-0
As England made a strong start in their attempt to sweep the series 3-0 in Leeds, it left New Zealand on 123 for five at tea. However, Nicholls would still be regretting his dismissal because it was really one of the most awkward way to get out ever. England went on to win the series by 3-0.
