Sam Adekugbe, 27, was called up as a substitute during a FIFA World Cup 2022 game to play for the Canadian team against Belgium. The now-popular video was recorded during that game. As soon as his mother saw him playing live on TV, she couldn’t contain her joy and started jumping in happiness.

The video, which was posted on Instagram by ESPN, shows Dee, Adekugbe’s mother, jumping joyfully in front of a television. “My son is in the World Cup,” the woman was heard saying. “Jesus, thank you.
