The former captain of India reportedly became the highest-paid cricketer in the nation in 2022 thanks to a commercial agreement for Rs 256.52 crore. According to a report, Kohli is the highest-paid athlete in India with a net income of $33.9 million. Kohli is 61st overall among the world's highest-paid athletes.
Fans and cricket enthusiasts hailed Kohli on Twitter as soon as the report gained widespread attention. A user wrote, “He is truly the king.” Meanwhile another user wrote, “Virat deserves Rs 25,000 crore not Rs 256 crore for his captaincy and the runs he has scored for the nation. No one has done but yes as a fan of Virat Kohli, I want him to play all formats and score Huge."

2022: The comeback year for Virat Kohli
The International Cricket Council (ICC) honoured Kohli with the title of Men's Player of the Month for October before their T20 World Cup semifinal match. After hitting 295 runs in the month of October, Kohli won his maiden Player of the Month honour. To earn the prestigious prize, Kohli went past Sikandar Raza of Zimbabwe and David Miller of South Africa.
Against Pakistan in a World Cup match, Kohli delivered one of the greatest T20I cricket innings in history. In order to lead India to a four-wicket victory against their opponents, he had struck an unbeaten 82 from 53 balls. During the T20 World Cup, Kohli also surpassed the century mark against the Netherlands.
After hitting the three-figure mark against Afghanistan during the Asia Cup in September 2022, Kohli also ended his century drought in international cricket. It ended up being his first century in T20I cricket as well.
