Virat kohli breaks Sachin tendulkar record and becomes fastest batsman

Kohli completed 12000 ODI runs in 241 innings of his 251 matches. He broke the record of Sachin Tendulkar, who completed 12000 ODI runs in the 300th innings of 309 matches. Tendulkar surpassed this halt in his 98-run memorable innings played at the Centurion against Pakistan in the 2003 World Cup. Kohli is the sixth player in the world and the second player from India to score 12000 ODI runs.

Kohli set the record for the fastest 12 thousand runs as soon as he scored 23 runs in the match. In this case, he has surpassed Sachin Tendulkar.

Sachin played 309 matches to score 12 thousand runs. At the same time, Kohli took this record to his name 58 matches before Sachin. Earlier, Kohli also broke the record for making the fastest 10,000. Kohli has so far scored 12,040 runs in 251 ODIs at an average of around 60. Australia defeated India by 13 runs in the third ODI.

There are only five batsmen in ODI cricket who have achieved the score of 12 thousand runs. The name comes at the top of this is Sachin Tendulkar of India followed by Ricky Ponting of Australia. Three Sri Lankan players Sanath Jayasuriya, Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene are named in this list. Virat could be the sixth player to achieve this position.
