Virat Kohli: India turned things around after losing their last warm-up game against Western Australia, as Rohit Sharma and company managed a six-run triumph over Australia on Monday in Brisbane. KL Rahul was the driving force behind India’s impressive start after being asked to bat first. The opener reached 50 runs in only 24 balls before being dismissed on 57.

Suryakumar Yadav also contributed, smashing 50 runs off only 33 deliveries as India amassed a mammoth 186/7 on the board. In return, the home team got off to a similarly strong start, with captain Aaron Finch in charge of the run chase. Virat Kohli, though, made the difference with his precise fielding just when India’s control of the game seemed to be slipping away. Watch the video:

The supporters were mesmerized by what transpired after a superb run-out to remove the dangerous Tim David. In the penultimate over of the Australian chase, Mohammed Shami’s bowling struck Pat Cummins with a one-handed screamer as Kohli fielded at long-on.

Following his recovery from Covid, Shami recently made a comeback to the lineup and had an impact in the one over he bowled during the match. Australia needed 11 runs in the last over and had four wickets in hand. The pacer was given the ball.
