Virat Kohli surpasses Sachin Tendulkar to become India’s leading run-scorer in away ODIs

Virat Kohli has added another feather to his cap on Wednesday as the ex-captain became India’s highest run-scorer in away ODIs. Kohli surpassed Sachin Tendulkar to take over the record.

India lost the first ODI by 31 runs at the Boland Park in Paarl.

Kohli needed just nine runs to go past Tendular’s run tally (5065 runs in 147 innings) when he walked out to bat during India’s chase of 297 and got the required runs quite comfortably.

The former captain added 92 runs with opener Shikhar Dhawan for the second wicket. India suffered a batting collapse after that partnership.
