Virat Kohli: Wisden names the run machine’s 82* off 53 balls against Pakistan as ‘Best Men’s T20I innings of the Year’

Virat Kohli: Known by cricket enthusiasts as the ‘King’ of cricket, Virat Kohli has proved his worth to the title several times. He has played various memorable match-winning knocks for Team India which every fan will easily rememeber even after ages. The fact that his dip in form called upon a lot of criticism has been put down lately as his comeback has been even memorable.

Virat Kohli’s phenomenal knock shifted the momentum to India

Now, Wisden has recognised run machine’s knock of 82* off 53 balls against Pakistan in T20 World Cup 2022 as the best inning in Men’s T20I this year. Those who have seen the knock, know the greatness of this inning and as well as of Virat Kohli. While chasing 159, Team India was at a position of 35/4 and hopes were more towards Pakistan’s side but the chase-master knew his way around.

He went on to stich the match-winning partnership with Hardik Pandya and played one of the most memorable knock for team India. His inning drew in a lot of support not from just ICT fans but cricketing fraternity in the globe as well. In the last-ball thriller, at a moment India required 28 runs to win off 8 balls. And then the magic happened as he smashed two continous sixes to Haris Rauf and gave back all the momentum to Men in Blue.

Wisden names ‘Best Men’s T20I inning of the year’

Wisden, among its several other recognitions, named this inning as best of the year, which shows the value of the knock played by the Indian legend.

India was later disqaulified from the World Cup after they lost to England in the semi-finals. Pakistan reached the finale but they were too defeated by the England. However, Virat’s knock continues to remain a long-stiched memory in the heart of Indian fans.
