Yuvraj Singh: In the latest interview with Sports18, Yuvraj Singh opened up about his struggles during his cancer and how his comeback to team India was made possible. He was emotional while reminiscing the times of his struggles.

Yuvraj has always been a critic of BCCI for treating him the way they did at the end of his career. Yuvraj failed the Yo-Yo test in 2017 and was left out of the team. The ex-cricketer achieved the required fitness later but was dropped till then.

After battling cancer and winning, he returned to the Indian T20 squad. But was left out of the ODI squad since 2013. Yuvraj has spoken about his comeback to the Indian squad and how it was made possible.

Virat always supported me

In the interview, Yuvraj stated that Kohli always supported him during his comeback. He further stated that if Virat did not support him, his comeback wouldn’t have been possible. The former Indian cricketer also praised Dhoni and stated that his support was immense as well.

“When I made my comeback in the Indian team, Virat Kohli supported me a lot during his captaincy. If Virat didn’t support me, my comeback would never have happened,” the cricketer stated.

Yuvraj added to that statement and stated that “MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli both supported me a lot. Both did as much as they could for me”.

Yuvraj Singh Immense Contribution

The contribution of Yuvraj Singh to the Indian squad has been nothing less than monumental. He was the man of the tournament and led India to the 2011 World Cup. In the 2007 T20 World Cup, he was phenomenal as well.

It is not wrong to say that India wouldn’t have been able to win those tournaments without his contributions. Yuvraj played his last match for India back in 2107 and announced his retirement from International cricket back in 2019.
