10 DRG security personnel, driver killed in Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh

Ten personnel of Chhattisgarh’s District Reserve Guard (DRG) along with the driver of the vehicle has been killed in a Naxal attack on Wednesday. The security personnel traveled to Dantewada's Aranpur area after getting information about the Naxalites’ operation there. They were on the anti-Maoist operations in the area. 

Security personnel killed in Naxalite attack 

The DRG personnel had gone to Dantewada's Aranpur area after receiving inputs of Naxalites present there. They were returning from the area when their vehicle became the target of an improvised explosive device (IED) attack by the Maoists. The Naxalites were well aware of the security personnel’s return and had planted on the road the vehicle had taken. 

Chhattisgarh CM Pays Tributes

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel took to Twitter and said that the attack on DRG jawans was unfortunate and we all pay our respects to bereaved souls. "There is such information with us. It is very saddening. My condolences to the bereaved families. This fight is in its last stage. Naxals won't be spared," he said while interacting with the media.

Amit Shah talks to Chhattisgarh CM 

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also spoke to Chhattisgarh CM and took stock of the situation. He also assured the Centre’s full support to the state government in the matter.
