Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Anurag Dhanda has alleged that women in Delhi are struggling to receive the free LPG cylinders promised by the government ahead of Diwali celebrations.
The post, directed at BJP leader Rekha Gupta, highlights rising public anger as residents accuse delivery agents of denying free cylinders.
Anurag Dhanda Alleges Delhi Women Denied Free LPG Cylinders Ahead of Diwali
According to reports, several women in localities across Delhi have confronted gas distributors, alleging confusion over eligibility and delayed implementation of the subsidy scheme. Many claimed they were assured of a free refill under the government’s festive welfare initiative but were asked to pay full charges at the time of delivery.
Delhi government had earlier announced that under its welfare programme
The Delhi government had earlier announced that under its welfare programme, women beneficiaries registered under the Ujjwala Yojana and state-backed LPG schemes would receive free cylinders during the festive season. However, opposition leaders have accused the AAP government of misleading the public and failing to coordinate with oil companies for proper execution.
Political analysts believe this controversy has added to the ongoing war of words between AAP and BJP, with both parties using social media to target each other ahead of the upcoming civic and assembly elections.
So far, no official clarification has been issued by the Delhi government or gas agencies regarding the alleged lapses in cylinder distribution.
