Anurag Dhanda, Saurabh Bharadwaj Allege Misuse of Tribal Funds at PM Rally, Raise Questions on Massive Expenditure

The allegations have intensified political debate, with the ruling establishment yet to issue an official response to the claims made by Anurag Dhanda and Saurabh Bharadwaj.

AAP leader and national media in-charge Anurag Dhanda, along with Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj, on Tuesday made serious allegations over the alleged misuse of tribal welfare funds during a Prime Minister’s rally. Addressing the media during a LIVE interaction, the leaders questioned the scale of expenditure, claiming that crores of rupees were spent on arrangements instead of being used for the welfare of tribal communities.

Raising sharp questions, Anurag Dhanda said, “₹2 crore on tea and snacks and ₹5 crore on the stage—how can such massive spending be justified when the money is meant for tribal development?” He alleged that funds allocated for tribal welfare were diverted to organise high-profile political events, calling it a direct betrayal of marginalised communities.

Saurabh Bharadwaj echoed similar concerns, stating that such expenses expose misplaced priorities and highlight how public money is allegedly being misused for political optics. He said tribal funds should be utilised for education, healthcare, livelihood support and infrastructure in tribal areas, not for grand rallies.

The AAP leaders demanded transparency and accountability from the authorities, asking for a detailed audit of expenditures related to the rally. They also called for an independent investigation into whether tribal welfare funds were officially sanctioned or indirectly routed for the event.

Anurag Dhanda asserted that the issue goes beyond politics and is about protecting the rights of tribal communities. He said AAP will continue to raise this matter at every platform until clear answers are provided and responsibility is fixed.

The allegations have intensified political debate, with the ruling establishment yet to issue an official response to the claims made by Anurag Dhanda and Saurabh Bharadwaj.
