Anurag Dhanda Tweets Criticising BJP Rule in Delhi

Leaders from the Aam Aadmi Party and other opposition parties have frequently targeted the administration on civic services.

Political spokesperson Anurag Dhanda has criticised the governance of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the national capital, alleging that the city is facing multiple civic and infrastructure challenges within one year of its administration.

In a social media post, Dhanda questioned why residents are dealing with polluted air, unsafe drinking water, long power cuts, and rising school fees. He also alleged that welfare services such as free treatment facilities and neighbourhood clinics have slowed down or been discontinued in several areas.

Using the slogan “एक साल, दिल्ली बेहाल, याद आ रहे केजरीवाल” (One year, Delhi in distress, people miss Kejriwal), he suggested that citizens are recalling the tenure of former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal. He further described the present system as a “four-engine government” and claimed worsening living conditions, citing issues such as homelessness during winter, contaminated water supply, and irregular electricity.

Anurag Dhanda Allegations Listed in Post

Dhanda’s post listed several points he said reflect public dissatisfaction:

  • Air pollution levels allegedly touching extreme ranges
  • Reports of private schools increasing fees
  • Claims of prolonged power cuts
  • Concerns over drinking water quality
  • Closure or reduced functioning of mohalla clinics

Political Context

The remarks come amid continued political exchanges between opposition figures and ruling authorities over governance performance in the capital. Leaders from the Aam Aadmi Party and other opposition parties have frequently targeted the administration on civic services, while ruling party representatives have defended their record, citing infrastructure upgrades, administrative reforms, and development initiatives.

Ongoing Public Debate

Issues such as pollution control, urban infrastructure, and utility services remain central topics in Delhi’s political discourse, especially as parties position themselves ahead of upcoming electoral cycles. Analysts say social media statements like Dhanda’s are part of a broader narrative battle to shape public perception about governance and service delivery in the capital.

The post has triggered reactions online, with supporters and critics debating the accuracy of the claims and sharing their own experiences of city services.
