Arvind Kejriwal : Following the Delhi High Court’s denial of protection from arrest to Arvind Kejriwal in the liquor policy case, a team from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrived at the Chief Minister’s residence to initiate questioning under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. The team, comprising 12 officials, entered the residence with a search warrant and confiscated the phones of Kejriwal and his family members.

Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj, who also arrived at the scene, expressed concern over the situation, likening it to a raid. He suggested that there might be plans to arrest Kejriwal.
Kejriwal, the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has sought an urgent hearing from the Supreme Court in response to the developments.
ED Team Visits Delhi Chief Minister’s Residence for Inquiry
This development comes after Kejriwal skipped nine summonses issued by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the alleged liquor policy scam. Additionally, he failed to appear for summons related to a money-laundering case linked to irregularities in the Delhi Jal Board.
The ED team’s visit to the Delhi Chief Minister’s residence occurs shortly after the arrest of BRS leader K Kavitha in the liquor policy case, where Kejriwal was implicated as a conspirator for the first time.
Speculation regarding Kejriwal’s potential arrest has been rife since the first summons was issued in October last year. The situation escalated following the denial of protection from coercive action by the Delhi High Court.
The presence of heavy police deployment outside Kejriwal’s residence underscores the gravity of the situation as the ED intensifies its investigation into the alleged financial irregularities.
