In an encounter with the UPSTF squad commanded by DySP Navendu and DySP Vimal in Jhansi, Asad, the son of a mafia member turned politician named Atiq Ahmed, and Ghulam S/o Maksudan, both wanted in the Prayagraj murder case of Umesh Pal and carrying reward money of Rs. 5 lakhs each, were both slain. recovered sophisticated weaponry made abroad.

Asad was killed in an encounter
On the same day that Atiq Ahmad and his brother appeared before a Prayagraj court in relation to the case, Asad was killed in an encounter. For his court appearance, he was transported by vehicle from Ahmedabad’s Sabarmati jail to Prayagraj. He brought his brother Khalid Azim, aka Ashraf, from Bareilly prison.
