Baltej Pannu : The Aam Aadmi Party’s Punjab unit has launched a sharp political attack on the Shiromani Akali Dal following the arrest of a local political leader in connection with a case registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
According to statements issued by AAP Punjab and party media in-charge Baltej Pannu, Jasakaranjit Singh, who was reportedly associated with the Shiromani Akali Dal in the Dakha constituency, has been arrested in relation to allegations involving a minor girl.

AAP leaders alleged that attempts were made to influence officials before the arrest and also claimed that individuals linked to the accused had allegedly tried to influence the victim’s family. The party further stated that the accused had previously participated in important meetings associated with Shiromani Akali Dal leadership.
The allegations have intensified political confrontation between the ruling Aam Aadmi Party and opposition parties in Punjab, with leaders trading accusations over law and order and political accountability.
