Her family lodged a missing person complaint, and her body was recovered the next morning from inside a sack submerged in a pond near her residence at Suryapur under Dhapdhapi II Gram Panchayat.
Autopsy Reveals Brutal Assault in Baruipur Case
The preliminary postmortem report has pointed to sexual assault and extreme physical brutality. Medical examiners found deep head injuries consistent with a forceful blow, along with scratch and bite marks on the body. Investigators said the presence of water in her lungs indicates she was still alive when she was placed inside the sack and thrown into the pond.

Three Held, Probe Widens
Following the unrest, police arrested Prabhas Mondal, whose interrogation led to the recovery of the body, along with Dibakar Sardar and Anand Sardar. A specialised six-member investigation team has been formed, and three more individuals are being questioned for suspected local involvement.
