July 15 in Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has made a big political and economic move by announcing a plan to create 1 crore new jobs and work opportunities in the next five years. This is because the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections are very important. The news came after the CM led a major cabinet meeting. This is one of the state's biggest efforts to create jobs in recent years.
It was agreed upon by the Bihar Cabinet that both government and private sector routes should be used to create jobs. It is hoped that this plan will work with programs that help people learn new skills and build public infrastructure, all of which will help create jobs in both rural and urban places.
Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said that this plan is not just a party slogan but a well-thought-out effort with programs for women, young people, and business owners. Officials confirmed that the job goal would be carried out by working together with departments like Labor, Rural Development, Industries, and Urban Affairs.
A lot of attention has been paid to getting young people jobs. The government wants to make skill training centers bigger and better spread out across areas. They also want to add job-related vocational education to higher secondary schools. Along with private businesses, the Bihar government will also set up training hubs and incubators for new businesses.
"Ease of doing business for MSMEs, skill development, and digital job platforms will be at the heart of this program," said a government official who helped write the plan.
The timing of this big job news is very important. With elections for the Assembly coming up in 2025, political experts see this as Nitish Kumar's attempt to win back voters' trust and fight the opposition's growing stories about unemployment and migration. The government run by the JD(U) could use the promise of 1 crore jobs as its main political tool.
But leaders of the opposition have been cautious. They are asking whether past promises to hire people are being kept and are calling for a clear timeline and openness in the hiring process.
