The mistake provoked demonstrations from labour unions. The incident happened on May 22, when district-wide education department inspectors surprised everyone by conducting surprise inspections at several schools. Several teachers were discovered to be missing from class during the inspection, and the performance of several others was deemed to be subpar. This news raised the question about the condition of education.

The statement highlights a typo error

The District Education Officer (DEO) in charge of the area promptly took action and sent out a letter outlining the teachers' punitive measures. Nevertheless, the letter—which was supposed to highlight the teachers' shortcomings—showed a typo: "bed performance" was typed instead of "bad performance."
