Vijay Thalapathy:Tamil Nadu has entered a new political chapter as C. Joseph Vijay, popularly known as Vijay Thalapathy, officially took oath as the Chief Minister of the state.
Transparent Governance Becomes Vijay Government’s First Promise
During his first public address after taking oath, Vijay promised a “transparent administration” and assured people that his government would work to fulfil every major promise made in the TVK manifesto. One of the biggest announcements was the decision to prepare a white paper on the financial condition of the previous DMK government. This move is being seen as a direct political challenge to the DMK leadership and could trigger a fresh political debate across the state.
200 Units Free Electricity for Families
One of Vijay’s first signed orders included providing 200 units of free electricity to households in Tamil Nadu. The announcement immediately grabbed public attention as rising electricity costs have become a major concern for middle-class and lower-income families. Political observers believe this welfare move is aimed at strengthening public support for the newly formed government.
Free Bus Travel for Women Continues
Vijay also signaled support for women-focused welfare by backing free bus travel schemes for women. Women’s mobility and safety have remained major election issues in Tamil Nadu, and the new Chief Minister appears keen to continue and expand welfare policies that directly benefit female commuters.
Women’s Safety and Anti-Drug Task Forces
Another major step taken by the new government was the formation of special task forces focused on women’s safety and anti-drug operations. Vijay’s administration said these teams would work aggressively to tackle growing concerns around crimes against women and substance abuse in the state.
