Controversy Ignites! Bihar Minister Calls Prophet Muhammad ‘Maryada Purushottam’

When referring to Prophet Muhammad as "Maryada Purushottam" during a Krishna Janmashtami celebration, Bihar's education minister sparks controversy.

Bihar News

Bihar News: The founder of Islam, Prophet Muhammad, was described as “Maryada Purushottam” (the “perfect man”) by Bihar Education Minister Chandrashekar on Thursday. He said it while he spoke to a crowd during a Krishna Janmashtami celebration.

Chandrashekar’s Remarks on the Emergence of Prophet Muhammad and Islam

Speaking at the event, Chandrashekar said, “When satanism increased in the world, faith ended, dishonest people and devils were all around, then in the region of Central Asia, God created a brilliant man of great manliness, Maryada Purushottam, Prophet Muhammad, to bring faith.” “Islam came for the believers, Islam came against dishonesty, Islam came against evil,” the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader added.

Understanding the Revered Title of Lord Ram

‘Maryada Purushottam’ is how Lord Ram is referred to in Hindu mythology. The BJP retaliated quickly after Chandrashekar’s comparison of the Prophet Muhammad to “Maryada Purushottam,” claiming that the Lalu Prasad Yadav-led RJD was trying to acquire votes by inciting panic in the name of caste and religion. “Education Minister Chandrashekhar has become a victim of mental illness. Sometimes, he comments on Ramayana and then he speaks about the Prophet Muhammad. These people do vote politics by fighting in the name of religion and caste and this cannot be condemned enough”, said BJP spokesperson Arvind Kumar Singh.
