Defence PRO Chennai shared details of the operation on social media platform X, stating, “70 Indian Army soldiers headed by Major Ajay Sangwan rushed to the Krishna Nagar area for Cyclone Fengal rescue operations and rescued over 100 people. The IMD reported that Puducherry experienced 48.4 cm of rainfall within 24 hours, marking the highest cumulative rainfall for the period between 1995 and 2024.
