New Delhi, India – In a major announcement at a recent press conference, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal unveiled the Delhi government’s new “Premium Bus Aggregator Plan.” This initiative aims to provide convenience to the general public while encouraging equal participation from all residents. Kejriwal also shared details of this initiative on social media, highlighting the government’s unwavering commitment to making Delhi a pollution-free city.

Premium Bus Aggregator Plan

The Premium Bus Aggregator Plan is a unique initiative that will involve partnering with private bus operators to provide a premium bus service to the public. These buses will be equipped with state-of-the-art amenities, such as comfortable seats, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and charging points. They will also be operated by trained and professional drivers.

The Delhi government will provide subsidies to the private bus operators to make the service affordable for the public. The government will also work to ensure that the buses are integrated with the existing public transportation system, such as the Delhi Metro.

Relief from Traffic Jams and Crop Residue Issues

As winter sets in, Delhi is experiencing increased fog and pollution. In response, both the Delhi government and the Pollution Control Board are actively engaged in addressing these concerns. As in previous years, Delhi has discouraged the burning of crop residue, differing from other states. On the other hand, the government of Punjab, led by Bhagwant Mann, has implemented stringent regulations to control crop residue burning.

Additionally, Delhi may also enforce stricter regulations on motor vehicle usage. The Delhi government had previously introduced the odd-even formula, and now they are aiming to combat pollution by providing the public with a premium bus service as an alternative solution.
