Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday announced a series of public welfare measures aimed at improving urban mobility, environmental health, and infrastructure in the national capital. Among the key initiatives is the introduction of ‘Pink Cards’ to replace the existing pink tickets in DTC buses, continuing the city’s focus on free and safe public transport for women.

“We have prepared to bring ‘Pink Cards’ in place of ‘Pink Tickets’ in DTC buses for our sisters in Delhi,” tweeted the CM, highlighting the move as a step toward streamlining the system and offering more consistent travel benefits to women.

Cleaner Yamuna, Better Infrastructure, Safer Commutes

Along with transport reforms, CM Gupta reiterated her government’s commitment to:

Reducing air and water pollution

Cleaning the Yamuna river

Strengthening Delhi’s civic infrastructure

Ensuring all basic facilities reach every resident

“We will reduce pollution, clean the Yamuna, develop infrastructure, and give all facilities to the residents of Delhi,” she added.

Focus on Accessibility and Sustainability

The move to introduce Pink Cards aligns with the broader vision of making public services accessible, digitised, and inclusive, especially for women who rely on public transport for daily commuting.

The announcements reflect the new government’s agenda to enhance the quality of life in Delhi through targeted, people-centric reforms.
