In a major step towards strengthening Delhi’s education system, the government has announced the launch of 60 new modern CM Shri Schools for the 2025-26 academic session. Along with this, existing government schools will be upgraded to ensure that every student receives better education opportunities.
Commitment to Educational Reform
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s government has fulfilled its promise to enhance education infrastructure by launching the CM Shri School initiative. Under this plan, the government aims to establish modern schools in slum clusters and upgrade existing government schools, ensuring high-quality education for all.
Budget Allocation for CM Shri Schools
To support this initiative, the government has allocated a ₹100 crore budget for the financial year 2025-26. This funding will be used to:
Construct 60 new CM Shri Schools equipped with modern facilities.
Upgrade existing government schools with better infrastructure and resources.
A Step Towards ‘Viksit Delhi’
The CM Shri School initiative aligns with the vision of ‘Viksit Delhi’, ensuring that students from underprivileged backgrounds receive access to quality education. With a focus on modern facilities, advanced learning techniques, and upgraded infrastructure, the government is working towards making Delhi’s education system stronger and more inclusive.
This development marks a significant milestone in Delhi’s education reforms, reaffirming the commitment to providing world-class education to every child in the city.
To cultivate entrepreneurial skills among students, the government will introduce the New Era of Entrepreneurial Ecosystem and Vision (NEEEV) program in schools from classes 8 to 12, with a budget of ₹20 crore. Additionally, ₹500 crore has been allocated to develop an education hub in Narela, aiming to strengthen higher education infrastructure.
