Delhi CM Rekha Gupta on Monday visited the Yamuna Bazar area to personally review the flood management measures and administrative preparedness in the region. The inspection included on-ground interaction with local residents, where she listened to their concerns and assured them of the government’s full commitment to their safety.
According to Gupta, the Yamuna water level was expected to touch 206 meters in the morning, raising fears of potential flooding. However, the situation remained fully under control, and the water has begun to recede. She clarified that the area lies in the low-lying floodplain of the Yamuna, which is why water reached the locality but did not spread further. Importantly, Gupta emphasized that there is no flood-like situation in Delhi.
Government’s Preparedness and Relief Measures
Rekha Gupta highlighted that a control room is monitoring the situation round the clock, while rescue and relief teams remain on high alert. These teams are equipped to respond immediately in case of any emergency. She reassured citizens that the government is fully prepared to handle every situation with efficiency and speed.
During her visit, Gupta stressed that public safety and convenience remain the top priority. She urged people not to panic and to trust the administration’s flood preparedness plans.
Assurance to Citizens
Addressing Delhi residents, Rekha Gupta said:
“I want to assure every Delhiite that the government is standing firmly with you. Your safety and well-being are our highest priority, and there is no need for any concern.”
Her visit not only reinforced the administration’s readiness but also reassured the community that proactive measures are in place to keep Delhi safe during the Yamuna’s seasonal rise.
