In the spirit of unity and wellness, Delhi Cabinet Minister Rekha Gupta has extended a heartfelt invitation to the people of the national capital to join International Yoga Day celebrations on June 21, promising a unique and participative event across the city.

Taking to social media, Rekha Gupta announced that yoga sessions will be held simultaneously at 11 iconic locations across Delhi, where she, along with fellow cabinet colleagues and Members of Parliament from Delhi, will join citizens in practicing yoga.

“This will not just be a celebration of yoga, but a symbol of public participation and people’s power,” she said. “Government and society together will shape a healthy, strong, and aware Delhi.”

A New Tradition for a Healthier Capital

Calling it the beginning of a new tradition in Delhi, Gupta emphasized that the initiative is aimed at strengthening the collective resolve for a “One India, Healthy India”.

The minister encouraged all Delhiites to mark their presence and make this Yoga Mahotsav a historic public festival by turning out in large numbers and contributing to the wellness movement.

Yoga at Delhi’s Iconic Spots

Though the specific venues have not yet been listed, the event is expected to be held at landmarks that symbolize Delhi’s cultural and civic identity, such as India Gate, Red Fort, Connaught Place, and Lodhi Garden, among others.

As the International Yoga Day 2025 approaches, this campaign led by Rekha Gupta aims to make yoga not just a practice, but a public movement in Delhi.

The event aligns with the nationwide focus on promoting mental, physical, and social well-being, marking a decade since the UN-recognized International Day of Yoga was first celebrated in 2015.
