In a heartfelt moment captured during a routine city inspection, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was seen pausing her convoy to address a man who had thrown a piece of roti (Indian bread) onto the road—presumably for feeding a cow. The video of the interaction has since gone viral on social media, sparking conversations around culture, responsibility, and public safety.

The CM urged the man not to repeat such actions, stressing that roti is more than food—it is a symbol of Indian culture, devotion, and respect. She highlighted how discarding food on roads not only endangers animals like cows, who often wander into traffic to feed, but also puts human lives and road safety at risk.
“Roti is a symbol of our sanskaar and faith. Throwing it on the road is not only disrespectful to food but also a safety hazard for everyone, including animals,” Gupta said during the interaction.
Gupta further emphasized that if people genuinely want to feed animals, they should do so in designated spaces such as gaushalas (cow shelters) or safe, appropriate zones—not on roads. Her appeal was not just for that individual, but for all Delhi residents, calling on citizens to demonstrate sensitivity, accountability, and cultural awareness.
“I appeal to all Delhiites—do not throw food on the streets. Feed animals with love, but do so responsibly. Respect our culture and keep our roads safe,” she concluded.
The video has since drawn praise from netizens, who lauded the CM for leading by example and raising awareness on an issue often overlooked.
