Delhi Fog Alert: Flight Cancellations on Cards ? Air India, IndiGo and SpiceJet Warn Passengers of Delays, Check Advisory

Dense fog in Delhi triggers flight cancellations and delays. Air India, IndiGo and SpiceJet warn passengers to check schedules and plan ahead.

A dense fog is making air travel difficult in Delhi and northern India. Major companies have warned that flights might be delayed or cancelled. Before going to Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI), people who are flying should check the plans.

Fog Makes It Hard to See, Flights Affected

In the national capital, heavy fog has made it hard to see, so airport officials had to use advanced low-visibility procedures, including CAT III operations, which help planes land when visibility is bad. Still, because of the thick fog, several flights have already been cancelled, and more are being delayed as operators deal with the situation.

Airlines Put Out Travel Warnings

Air India said that over the next few days, thick fog could affect not only flights in Delhi, but also at some airports in the north and east. It’s a good idea for passengers to check their flight status often through the airline’s official channels and talk to ground staff for help.

IndiGo put out a similar warning, saying that bad visibility may cause delays or cancellations, especially in operations in the early morning. To keep problems at a minimum, the carrier is working closely with air traffic control.

SpiceJet also told travellers that low visibility could affect departures and landings, telling them to keep an eye on updates and plan for extra travel time.

Advisory for passengers

Delhi airport workers and airlines are telling travellers to check live flight statuses, get to the airport early, and be ready for changes to the plan. Passengers on flights that are likely to be impacted may get advance warnings and the chance to rebook or get their money back without having to pay extra because of programs like “FogCare” from Air India.”
