Delhi: Light Drizzles provides much needed relief from heat to Delhiites

Delhi News: On Monday, the city received light showers providing respite after hot temperature recorded on Sunday. The residents of the city woke up to sight of light drizzles causing a significant fall in the temperature. The city recorded maximum temperature of 38.6 degrees Celsius on Sunday and the minimum temperature settled at 28.6 degrees Celsius. The expected maximum and minimum temperature will be around 39 and 27 degrees Celsius respectively.

Moderation in air quality

As an influence of Cyclone Biparjoy and Western disturbances over Himalayan region, Delhi has been receiving spells of rainfall since Friday. From Friday through Saturday, the city recorded 7 mm of rainfall.  According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR), Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded in the moderate (128) on Sunday.

Similar weather to persist throughout this week

According to reports by Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), drizzles will likely continue as an impact of Western Disturbances. “Some drizzle was recorded in the early hours, while another spell was witnessed around the afternoon. The moisture content has risen, leading to humid weather. There are chances of a drizzle in some parts on Monday and Tuesday too, with similar weather to persist,” said an IMD official. There will be no rainfalls from Wednesday through till Saturday, but city will continue to experience cloudiness and high humidity.
