Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi inspects MCD hospital, directs actions against taking bribe

Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi on Thursday inspected a Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) hospital and warned the staff members against taking the bribes would be terminated from the service with immediate effect. This came after the Delhi mayor inspected Swami Dayanand Hospital in east Delhi’s Shahdra. Deputy Mayor Aaley Mohammad Iqbal also accompanied Oberoi during the inspection.

Mayor Shelly Oberoi during her inspection interacted with many patients and heard their problems. She also visits the gynecology department. She also paid a visit to the neonatal intensive care unit, delivery room, operation theatre, and general OPD,  a statement said. 

Strict actions against taking bribe

The mayor has warned that any staff member found demanding or taking bribes would be "terminated (from service) with immediate effect," the statement said.

The mayor also directed to fix several other issues in the hospital such as making seating arrangements for patients’ attendants and repairing faulty fans.
