Delhi Metro Phase 4 Set for Gold Rush, Alstom to Craft 52 Trains for the Golden Line Corridor

Delhi Metro

Delhi Metro: The construction of trains for the Delhi Metro’s Phase IV has begun. DMRC has issued an updated version. Aerocity and Tughlakabad will be connected by the new Gold Line 10. which the Golden Line Corridor will be named after. This travels 64.67 kilometres in total. The Aerocity Corridor’s new colour scheme was introduced by DMRC. This choice was made in response to a problem with visibility. The hue of the metro coaches is silver. it is not very apparent.

Crafting the Future of Delhi Metro Phase 4

52 trains will be prepared by Alstom. There will be six carriages on each train. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) placed the order in November 2022. In Sricity, Andhra Pradesh, trains are produced under the Made in India programme.

According to officials, the project is about 312 million euros in total and includes 15 years of new line train maintenance. Modern green vehicles will be the future trains. A safe speed of 95 km/h is the goal for these driverless trains. The trains’ door poles will be decorated in saffron, white, and green hues.

Speed Upgrade for Pink Line

The Delhi Metro Phase-IV’s Maujpur-Majlis Park (Pink Line expansion) line would see an increase in speed starting in 2026. This 12.32 kilometre long corridor will be finished in 20 months with construction. Once construction is finished, it will become the first 70-kilometer radius ring metro corridor in the nation. This will make it quicker for travellers from all over Delhi to get to bus stops, major marketplaces, and train terminals.

Delhi Metro’s Pink Line Extension Reaches 78% Completion

Currently, 78% of the corridor’s building work has been finished. This will include the building of eight elevated stations, three of which—Burari, Jharoda Majra, and Jagatpur—are currently nearing completion. Civil structure construction is well underway.

This includes track laying, platform-level PEB, technical rooms, concourse platform finishing, and station entry and exit gates. Passenger Service Equipment (PSD), lifts, escalators, and other station utilities will be installed at these stations once the civil structure is finished.

Delhi’s First-of-its-Kind Integrated Flyover-Metro Corridor

Along the Maujpur-Majlis Park corridor, a flyover and metro line are being constructed concurrently close to Surajghat. DMRC and the Public Works Department (PWD) are putting together this integrated structure for the first time. This entails building a flyover and a parallel metro corridor on top of the same raised structure.

This will allow metro to operate on Delhi’s flyover in addition to cars. The overall length of this corridor will be 450 metres. The unique aspect is that DMRC is building an underpass close to this corridor as well. Consequently, this will be Delhi’s first corridor of its kind, with the metro corridor running parallel to the flyover over the road. There will also be an underpass that appears beneath the road.

Yamuna Bridge to Enhance Delhi’s Metro Corridor Network

Cantilever building technique is also being used to build a 560 metre long bridge on Yamuna next to Signature Bridge, which will connect the corridor. Surajghat and Sonia Vihar will be connected by it. When finished, this corridor will link Delhi’s east, north, and south.

Delhi Metro Expansion

The stations on the Maujpur to Majlis Park route are Yamuna Vihar, Bhajanpura, Khajuri Khas, Sonia Vihar, Sorghat, Jagatpur Gaon, Jharauda Majra, and Burari. In the centre of the outer ring road will be two road pillars. As a result, during the construction, there won’t be any inconvenience for the cars using the route.

Delhi Metro is building 65 km of new lines in three corridors as part of Phase-Four. Of this, the remaining 28 kilometres are raised and subterranean. Eleven additional interchange stations will be developed as a result of this extension.
