Bomb Threat Delhi NCR Schools: Mass evacuations were prompted by bomb threats that were sent by email on Wednesday morning to more than 50 schools in Delhi and one in Noida, according to police officials.

Schools Targeted by Bomb Threats

The Delhi Police claim that several schools, including Mother Marry School in East Mayur Vihar, Amity School in Pushp Vihar, DAV School in South West Delhi, Mother Marry School in Dwarka, and Vasant Kunj sections of Delhi Public School (DPS), received the bomb threat. A similar bomb threat was also received by DPS Noida.

As soon as the threat was received, the school was evacuated, and the pupils were sent home, sources informed India Today TV. When the bomb threat was received by DPS Dwarka at six in the morning, officers from the Delhi Police, a number of fire tenders, and the bomb disposal squad (BDS) hurried to the scene.

No Threats Found

The police officials said that although a comprehensive investigation of the school’s grounds was carried out, nothing unusual was discovered. In a similar manner, Mother Mary School, Sanskriti School, Amity School, and DPS Noida campuses were also searched.

In a statement, the principal of DPS Noida said, “Delhi Public School, Noida has received an email that threatens the safety and security of the students. As a precautionary measure, we are sending the students back home immediately”.

Foreign IP Addresses

According to preliminary findings, the emails used to send the threat had IP addresses from countries other than India. The Delhi Police believed that a VPN might be used to hide the IP address. In relation to the matter, an investigation is in progress.

“Teams are searching, nothing suspicious has been found yet. The IP from which the email came is being investigated. The email was received early in the morning,” DCP Dwarka said in a statement to the media.

Minister Atishi Assures Public Safety

Minister Atishi of Delhi, meanwhile, stated that government representatives maintained continuous communication with the Delhi Police and educational authorities. She also asked the parents to be calm.

“Some schools have received bomb threats today morning. Students have been evacuated and those premises are being searched by Delhi Police. So far nothing has been found in any of the schools. We are in constant touch with the Police and the schools. Would request parents and citizens not to panic. School authorities will be in touch with parents wherever needed,” Atishi said in a post on X.

A bomb threat was received by Delhi Public School, RK Puram, earlier in February of this year. Police searched the area, but they found nothing untoward.
