Details about the Early morning Crash
Police say the accident happened at a traffic light near the Subhash Nagar Metro Station around 4:30 AM. A fast-moving car hit the rider while he was on his electric scooter, making a delivery.
According to people who saw what happened, the driver looked drunk and pulled the victim for a while before stopping. People in the area rushed to help and called the cops right away.
The hurt rider was taken to Deendayal Upadhyaya Hospital, but doctors already knew he was dead when they got there.
At the scene, police arrested a suspect who was 27 years old. The police took the driver’s car and ordered blood tests to see if he or she was drunk at the time of the crash. The police have also begun looking at CCTV video from nearby cameras to figure out the exact order of events.
A Probe is ongoing as the Number of Road Accidents Rises in the Capital
The case is being looked into in great depth by the Delhi Police. Officials said they are gathering forensic proof and statements from witnesses. The person who was hurt has not yet been named publicly.
This is the latest in a string of fatal car crashes in the city in the past few months. Similar cases, like the one in Dwarka, have made people argue more strongly for the strict enforcement of drunk driving rules.
As Delhi mourns the loss of another young life, questions about responsibility and road safety still remain. Authorities have promised harsh punishments if drunk driving is proven, which makes the need for better roads in the nation’s capital even stronger.
