Delhi News: Government to set up camps for official documents lost in floods, details

Government to set up Aadhar camps

On Sunday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that the government will establish special camps for remaking Aadhar Cards and other key documents washed away during flood rise in the state. Cm Kejriwal was on a visit to a relief camp site in north Delhi’s Mori gate area. At the camp Kejriwal interacted with people who were affected by the floods. During media interaction the Delhi Chief Minster said, “The government will set up special camps for those whose Aadhaar cards and other key documents were washed away in the flood. We will again arrange for school dresses and books for students.”

At the relief camp CM Kejriwal also stated that the water is being pumped out of the regions where waterlogging has jammed roads. As the water level of river Yamuna is receding the water pumping work is carried out in the affected areas.

‘Adhoc relief’

The water level in Yamuna has receded down to  205.85 meters by the Sunday afternoon. The water level is still above the danger mark of 205 meters.

The Delhi CM has also announced that the government will be providing textbooks and uniforms to children who have lost these things in the flood. He has also announced disbursement of adhoc relief to those who have lost all their essential possessions in the flood.

Aside from Delhi CM, Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi also made a visit to Priyadarshini Colony in Kashmere gate area which was severely affected by floods. She also made the announcement to set up camps for reissuing important official documents that were lost away in the floods.

Ordinance and Opposition meet

The Indian National Congress has announced their decision to not support Central government’s ‘Delhi Ordinance.’ When Delhi CM was asked about AAP joining the opposition meet to be held in Bengaluru he stated that AAP’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC) will take the final call on this matter. KC Venugopal of Congress has expressed optimism that AAP will be joining the opposition meet slated from Monday till Tuesday in Bengaluru. He also reaffirmed Congress’s decision over Ordinance made on Saturday, “As for the ordinance, our stand is very clear. We are not going to support it,” he further added.
