Discover what happened after Diwali as Delhi struggles with a serious air quality issue that is reversing progress made in the week leading up to the holiday.

Delhi Pollution

Delhi Pollution: For the past month or so, air pollution has been a worsening problem, particularly in places like New Delhi and Mumbai. The AQI values in Delhi reached an all-time high on Diwali despite the state governments’ limitations and the outright ban on crackers. A lot of firecrackers were lit throughout the celebration.

The Lingering AQI Crisis

Following Diwali, the Delhi AQI has completely erased all of the gains that were made in the week prior to Diwali and is still classified as “severe.” Learn about the Delhi AQI in certain areas and the action taken by a well-known government hospital to assist city dwellers experiencing health problems as a result of pollution.

Delhi’s Prolonged Stay in ‘Severe’ AQI Category

Since Diwali, as was previously noted, the Delhi AQI has stayed in the “severe” category, and residents have been comparing the area to a gas chamber because they are having trouble breathing regularly. The AQI is 430 in Anand Vihar, 417 in RK Puram, 423 in Punjabi Bagh, and 428 in Jahangirpuri.
