A bomb threat email sent on July 16 caused panic in St Thomas School Dwarka and Vasant Valley School in Delhi, leading to the swift reaction of the police. This is the third consecutive day that such threats have targeted schools in the capital.

Immediate Safety Measures Taken

The school's management was quick to act. Staff in residency who had an overnight stay were evacuated instantly and taken to safety as a precaution. The Delhi Police, which received notice of both schools, did not hesitate.

Security teams such as:

  • Delhi Police

  • Bomb Disposing Unit

  • Dog Squad

  • Cyber Crime Cell

The schools were sealed, and as many safety precautions as possible were taken to secure students, staff, and the surrounding area.

Police Investigation and Findings

No explosives or suspicious objects have been found on either site after extensive search missions that took several hours to complete. It was not the first bomb threat made to the St Thomas School in less than 24 hours, which makes the situation sound more threatening.

Although no physical threat is identified, the psychological pressure and panic imposed by constant threats cannot be ignored.

Delhi Schools and Colleges Facing Bomb Threats Again and Again

It is not the only case of this kind. Many schools around Delhi received similar bomb threats in the past three days. According to the Delhi Police, nearly 10 schools and one college have received similar bomb threat emails over the past three days. The schools that faced threats on Wednesday were St. Thomas School, Vasant Valley School, Mother's International School, Richmond Global School, and Sardar Patel Vidyalaya.

Although all of them proved to be fake, the repetitiveness of such hoaxes is currently seen by law enforcers as a serious issue. These emails may be part of an organized effort aimed at undermining the education system or triggering psychological panic among students and parents.

Impact on Students and Parents

As long as schools were physically secure, the psychological impact on students, faculty, and families was high. Parents are becoming increasingly concerned, and many are requesting stricter security measures in the online world and in schools.
