Manish Sisodia: In the alleged excise policy scam, a city court on Saturday increased the CBI’s custody of Manish Sisodia, the deputy chief minister of Delhi, by two additional days, until Monday. The hearing for Sisodia’s bail plea was scheduled for March 10, according to the court. After eight hours of questioning, Sisodia was detained by the CBI last Sunday night in connection with the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam. Sisodia made a bail motion to a Delhi court on Friday.

All of the recoveries had already been made

When hearing the case, the judge at Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court said, “Let the bail application be taken up on March 10 at 2 pm.” On March 10, the CBI is also anticipated to submit a response to Manish Sisodia’s bail request. Sisodia stated in his bail request that he would show up for his scheduled appearances before the central investigation agency. According to the relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Sisodia was detained for criminal conspiracy and intent to defraud. He claimed in his bail application that being held in custody would be ineffective because all of the recoveries had already been made.

Application was submitted to Special Judge

He added that he had held the significant constitutional position of Deputy CM of Delhi and had strong ties to the community while also stating that other accused individuals arrested in this case had already been granted bail. After Sisodia’s five days in CBI custody are up, he is supposed to appear before the judge on Saturday. According to his attorney Rishikesh, the application was submitted to Special Judge MK Nagpal, who scheduled a hearing for this coming Saturday.

Manish Sisodia left Arvind Kejriwal’s Cabinet

After the Supreme Court declined to consider Sisodia’s bail application on the grounds that it occurred in Delhi, Sisodia’s attorney filed the most recent argument in Delhi Rouse Avenue Court. The Supreme Court’s bench, made up of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice PS Narasimha, ruled that a person cannot approach the Supreme Court directly because they have options before the relevant trial court and the Delhi High Court. Following his arrest by the government agency last week, Manish Sisodia left Arvind Kejriwal’s Cabinet.
