DUSU Election Result 2026: ABVP Wins Three Posts, Independent Candidate Takes VP Seat

Meena claimed that complaints had been lodged regarding incidents at Swami Shraddhanand College, Ramjas College and Shivaji College.

The DUSU Election Result 2026 saw the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) win three of the four central panel posts, while independent candidate Deepanshu Shokeen secured the Vice-President position in the Delhi University Students’ Union elections.

ABVP’s Yash Dabas won the presidential election with 24,576 votes, defeating NSUI candidate Vijai Shankar Meena by 2,053 votes. ABVP also secured the Secretary and Joint Secretary posts.

Deepanshu Shokeen Wins Vice-President Post

Independent candidate Deepanshu Shokeen won the Vice-President election with 30,615 votes. He had previously sought an NSUI ticket before contesting the election as an independent candidate.

ABVP’s Ishu Maurya finished second with 16,910 votes, while NSUI’s official candidate Veer Chatrath received 4,313 votes.

NSUI Raises Bogus Voting Allegations

Following the results, NSUI presidential candidate Vijai Shankar Meena alleged that bogus and forced voting had taken place at some colleges during the DUSU election.

Meena claimed that complaints had been lodged regarding incidents at Swami Shraddhanand College, Ramjas College and Shivaji College. He said NSUI would approach the court over the allegations. These claims have been made by Meena and have not been established as facts.

DUSU Election Records 40.46% Turnout

The DUSU election recorded a 40.46% voter turnout, with more than 1.51 lakh students eligible to vote. Polling was held on September 18, followed by vote counting on September 19.

The 2026 results have brought renewed attention to student politics at Delhi University, with ABVP taking three central-panel positions and an independent candidate winning the remaining post.
