Exit Polls Result 2023: Congress and BJP in a Tight Race

Exit polls result 2023

Exit Polls Result 2023: As exit polls rolled in on Thursday, the political landscape in Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Mizoram revealed a complex picture. The Congress party seemed to hold an edge in Chhattisgarh and Telangana, while the BJP appeared to have an advantage in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Mizoram, on the other hand, witnessed predictions of a hung House, with neither the ruling Mizo National Front nor its main challenger, the Zoram People’s Movement, expected to secure a majority.

Congress determined to maintain hold in Rajasthan:

Months of intense campaigning preceded the polling, which spanned over the past month, commencing on November 7. The Congress is determined to maintain its hold in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, while aspiring to return to power in Madhya Pradesh. In the 2018 elections, the Congress had emerged victorious, but a 2020 revolt led by Jyotiraditya Scindia brought the BJP back into power.

Telangana is witnessing a triangular contest, with both the Congress and BJP aiming to thwart BRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao’s bid for a hat-trick. Meanwhile, in Mizoram, the traditional MNF-Congress rivalry faces a new entrant—the Zoram’s People Movement (ZPM).

Significant for both BJP and Congress:

These state elections hold immense significance for both the BJP and Congress, serving as a crucial battleground ahead of the general elections. The five states collectively contribute 83 members to the Lok Sabha. The BJP is relying on the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the impact of central welfare schemes, and the organizational strength of the party in these states.

The intricate dynamics of these elections underscore the evolving political landscape, with each state presenting unique challenges and opportunities for the major political players. As the results unfold, the outcome will not only shape the future of these states but will also set the tone for the impending national elections. The political maneuvering and electoral strategies deployed by the Congress and BJP in these diverse regions reflect a keenly contested battle for power and influence.
