Ghaziabad News: Authorities to introduce law to deal with Dog menace in Societies, report

Authorities will soon introduce new rules to deal with dog menace in the city.

Ghaziabad News: The Municipal Corporation is likely to hold a meeting to take a call on how to deal with the dog menace in the city. Authorities may also introduce strict measures regarding keeping a pet at home and on stray dogs. Many residents and pet lovers of the societies have been indulging in tiffs over the dog issue and many times serious complaints have also been registered against them for causing harm to others for not getting their pets vaccinated.

Residents demanding laws against Dog Menace

According to a survey by an NGO, the overall stray dog population in Ghaziabad was over 48000 in the year 2020 and around 23000 stray dogs have been sterilized so far according to the corporation. Many residents of the societies have been demanding strict laws to be made against dog menace so that people keeping pets should follow the rules without harming others in the area. Some tentative rules have been decided by the officers and sent further for approval. These rules are -dogs will not be allowed to eat outside someone else’s house, all pet dogs will be registered and their registration fee will be Rs 500.

Proposed Rules sent to Higher Authorities for Approval

The proposed rules will be sent to the Higher authorities for approval. The Corporation is looking forward to applying these rules in societies once they get a nod.
