Ghaziabad News: In a horrifying video posted online late on Wednesday night from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, a car is seen running over a man who is standing in the middle of the road. The incident was recorded by a man who was live broadcasting on social media while seated in another automobile at the time. In the video, a man is seen standing in the centre of the road as a white automobile travelling at high speed approaches from behind and strikes him. The driver did not stop, and the man was dragged away from the car while he was pinned beneath, as seen on the video. In the mishap, the man passed away.

Shocking Ghaziabad Hit-and-Run Captured on Video

The man, who was recording the act, can be heard shouting in the video, "Abe, niche fas gaya. Niche fas gaya aadmi. (The man is trapped beneath the car). Gaadi rok. (Stop the car). Gaadi ka number le jaldi jaldi (Note down the number of the car, fast)." In Ghaziabad, the event took place on Hapur Road. The footage also reveals one of the passersby writing down the car's licence plate. The footage then quickly ends as we observe a man exit the vehicle. In the video, a political party flag and a sticker that reads "vidhayak pratinidhi (representative of an assembly member)" can be seen on an automobile.

Police Detain Car Owner and Vehicle in Ghaziabad Hit-and-Run Case

The automobile's owner and the car itself have been detained by police for further investigation. The body of the dead has been sent for a post-mortem study, but his identity has not yet been determined. "A video going viral on social media shows a person sitting on the road and being hit by a car and the man has died. An investigation has been launched by the Kavinagar police station. The suspect has been taken into custody and his vehicle has been seized for further legal action," a senior police officer told India Today.
