Ghaziabad News: Revving Up for Electric Mobility, Municipal Corporation Proposes 20 Public Charging Stations for EVs

Ghaziabad News: According to officials, the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation is proposing the creation of 20 public charging stations as part of its efforts to improve the city’s infrastructure for electric vehicle charging. Officials with knowledge of the situation indicated that these designs, along with specific locations in five distinct zones, have been presented to the State Urban Development Department.

Ghaziabad’s Plan to Install 20 Electric Vehicle Charging Stations near Key Locations

Each charging station will have an area of 180 square feet allotted by the authorities; four stations will be positioned in the Kavi Nagar and City zones, three in the Vijay Nagar zone, five in the Mohan Nagar zone, and four in the Vasundhara zone. These stations will be thoughtfully positioned close to major thoroughfares. The plan, which identifies 20 places for auto charging, has been forwarded to the State Urban Development Department, according to municipal commissioner Nitin Gaur. The corporation has provided these areas as a response to the state government’s request for this proposal.

Ghaziabad’s Ambitious Proposal for 20 Charging Stations in Strategic Locations

Duhai on the Delhi-Meerut Road, close to the Arthala metro station, Kanawani in Indirapuram, Saur Urja Marg in Sahibabad, close to Max Hospital in Vaishali, close to the Hindon airfield, and close to the Mohan Nagar crossing are a few of the noteworthy areas the corporation suggests. The Ghaziabad district currently has a tiny number of electric vehicles, including 11,393 e-rickshaws, 11,689 e-carts, 1,591 two-wheelers, 136 e-autos, and 51 e-buses, according to official documents from the Regional Transport Department. These automobiles are among the approximately 789,000 registered automobiles. The UP State Road Transport Corporation’s regional manager, Kesri Nandan Chaudhary, stated that the 20 proposed charging stations on major roadways will act as public vehicle charging stations. The government wants to improve the infrastructure in 24 districts as part of an effort to encourage the usage of electric vehicles. According to him, this programme not only promotes the use of electric vehicles but also helps cut down on pollution.
