Ghazipur Landfill Fire: People living close to the Ghazipur landfill site in Delhi reported breathing difficulties during the massive fire incident that started on Sunday night. The Delhi Fire Service made an attempt to put out the fire on Monday, but locals living close reported breathing problems, eye irritation, and throat discomfort.

BJP Criticizes Delhi Administration Over Ghazipur Dump Commitment

The Delhi administration came under fire from the BJP, which said that despite having made a commitment to remove the Ghazipur dump by December 31 of last year, it had broken that promise. Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor said in a statement that smoke had covered the entire area due to the fire at the landfill, inconveniencing locals and businesses.

On Monday, Virendra Sachdeva, the President of the Delhi BJP, and Raja Iqbal Singh, the Leader of the Opposition in the MCD, will visit the Ghazipur garbage site.

AAP MP Sanjay Singh Addresses Ghazipur Landfill Incident

Sanjay Singh, an AAP MP, discussed the incident and stated, “All the MCD officials are working on it. The Fire Department has also been working. The fire will be brought under control soon.” He added that, “BJP is a corrupt party and has included all the corrupt leaders in their party. They are going to change the Constitution.”

LoP Raja Iqbal Singh Condemns AAP’s Handling of Ghazipur Landfill Crisis

LoP in Delhi MCD Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh says, “It shows vileness of AAP in MCD. People are suffering because of smoke. During our (BJP) times, 25 machines were used to work here, now more than half are not working. Garbage has increased and they are finding no other ways.”

He further said, “This seems to me as mischief by someone in association with the leaders of AAP to make contractors happy and earn money through corruption. They have nothing to do with people, this mountain of garbage is also a mountain of lies.”
