Greater Noida News: The 31st South Asia Trade Travel Exhibition (SATTE), which unites the travel, tourism, and hospitality industries on one platform, is scheduled to take place at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida on Thursday.

Exhibitor Diversity

According to the organisers, over 1,500 exhibitors, 800 hosted local and foreign buyers, and travel agencies from over 120 Indian locations will be present at the three-day event. The Union Ministry of Tourism and state tourism boards are supporting the event, which is being organised by Informa Markets. This year, Uttar Pradesh is the host state; partner states attending the event include Bihar, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, and Uttarakhand.

Stakeholder Discussions

The expo, which runs through February 24, will feature talks between stakeholders on a range of subjects, including “Tourism@2047,” “Decoding MICE for Business & Career Opportunities,” and “Tourism: The Balancing Act.” According to the event’s promoters, Saudi Arabia is the event’s premier partner nation abroad. Other partner nations include Dubai, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.

Historic Year for Travel Industry

Officials say that 2023 was a historic year for the travel and tourism sector in India. “The industry witnessed a remarkable growth in 2023, reaching ₹16.5 trillion, thereby highlighting its pivotal role in the nation’s economy. Notably, there was a significant increase in travel frequency among Indians, including for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) tourism, with a growing interest observed in both popular, lesser-known, and spiritual destinations,” said Yogesh Mudras, managing director, Informa Markets.

Debut of ‘Atithi’ Initiative

This year, ‘Atithi,’ an initiative centred around reverse buyer-seller meetings at the expo, will also make its debut at the show. The Ministry of Commerce & Industries is supporting the Services Export Promotion Council’s (SEPC) project, which aims to increase inbound tourism.

“We have mobilised participation of around 250 international buyers from 50 countries to enhance business opportunities for stakeholders of the Indian tourism industries with an aim to make India a most sought-after travel destination in the world,” said another official.
